Bhutan

Bhutan applied in July 2009 to become an IF beneficiary country.

This was preceded by a workshop on the EIF and Trade Facilitation in Bhutan in Paro in March 2009, which was attended by EIF/WTO, ITC, UNCTAD, UNDP and UNIDO.

A Technical Review was prepared by UNDP in the summer of 2009 in consultation with the Government of Bhutan. The conclusion and recommendation of the Technical Review was in favour of accession of Bhutan to the EIF.

As of September 2009, Bhutan has become an IF beneficiary country.
