The IF Working Group took the following decision on 16 January 2003:

"The Group accepted the decision of the Government of Eritrea to take a pause at this time. In line with the established technical review procedures, a decision to resume IF operations in the country will be based on a World Bank review of the macroeconomic and policy environment including the identification of a Lead Facilitator".
