Rwanda
To lay the groundwork for the DTIS and the IF process, a preliminary
mission took place from June 21-30, 2004. Participants included
the mission leader and representatives of IF agencies.
Based on the findings of this mission, a concept paper was prepared, outlining the main areas to be covered in the DTIS.
The main mission took place in November 2004. The DTIS team leader
visited Rwanda in March for exchanges with the Rwandese authorities
on the DTIS preliminary findings. Many follow-up exchanges took
place between the DTIS team and local consultants and the government.
Upon completion of the DTIS, the National Validation Workshop took
place in September 2005. An aide-mémoire was prepared after
the workshop. The outcome of the workshop was incorporated
in the final version of the DTIS.
The Ministry of Commerce prepared an overview
document including a table of actions (pdf - 117k) summarizing
the actions which took place after the National Workshop.
Trade issues (regional integration, AGOA, tariff reform,
transport, export promotion, EPZ) were covered in the June 2002
PRSP.
One Window II project was launched: capacity building at the
Ministry of Trade.
UK (DFID) is the IF Facilitator for Rwanda.
