Sierra Leone

The Ministry of Trade sent a two-person delegation to Rwanda in April 2005 to learn about their experience with the IF process. The preparatory mission took place in July 2005. The main findings of this mission were incorporated in an aide-mémoire. A concept note was prepared upon completion of the preparatory mission.

The main mission took place in October 2005. The outcome of this mission was summarized in an aide-mémoire. During the main mission, UNCTAD organized a two-day awareness-raising workshop in Freetown.

In May 2006, the Study Team leader and the World Bank Task Manager discussed the draft DTIS with technical staff in the Government. The DTIS review process took place in June 2006.

The National Validation Workshop was held in October 2006. A Post DTIS Validation Steps Aide-Mémoire was prepared after the workshop.

The final version of the DTIS was endorsed by the Cabinet early November 2006 after which the DTIS was presented to a Consultative Group meeting (late November 2006).

In January 2007, a concept note on institutional arrangements (pdf - 44k) was prepared.

DTIS results on tariff reform, regional integration and customs were included in the 2005 PRSP.

Window II projects were submitted for approval.
