Sudan

The preparatory mission took place in June 2006.The main points discussed during this mission were summarized in an aide-mémoire.

Two main missions have taken place, each focusing on a different set of issues. The first main mission was held in October/November 2006. Prior to this mission, a concept note was prepared. During this mission, a two-day pre-DTIS workshop was organized by UNCTAD, which was designed to sensitize the main stakeholders of the IF process. An aide-mémoire was prepared after this mission.

The second main mission took place in January 2007; its main findings were summarized in an aide-mémoire. Both main missions and the preparatory mission visited Juba to have discussions with the Government of Southern Sudan.

A draft DTIS was completed in July 2007. A National Validation Workshop is being planned for November/December 2007.
