The Integrated Framework (IF) for Trade-Related
Technical Assistance to least-developed countries (LDCs) is a
process that was first established in 1997 to support LDC
governments in trade capacity building and integrating trade issues
into overall national development strategies.
Through the IF, the participating agencies (IMF,
ITC, UNCTAD,
UNDP, World
Bank and the WTO)
combine their efforts with those of LDCs and
their other development partners to respond to the trade development
needs of LDCs so that they can become full and active players and
beneficiaries of the multilateral trading system, thereby enhancing
their economic growth and poverty reduction strategies.
